Bhubaneswar: The country’s capital on Saturday experienced moderate rainfall as fresh low pressure above the Bay of Bengal carrying more rainfall opportunities.
The official source said the city received 26.
2 mm rainfall at night.
The rainfall caused waterlogging in several low regions in the city.
It caused traffic problems on several busy roads in the city.
The IMD has estimated that most places will witness rainfall that is widespread for two days since Monday under the influence of low pressure possibilities.
There is a chance of heavy rain in isolated places in certain districts.
The system, now lying as a cyclical circulation, is likely to increase to low pressure within 48 hours and will cause rainfall in many places on Sunday, said Bulletin IMD.
H R Biswas, Director of the IMD, regional center, said the system is possible after causing rainfall widespread for two days will lose its influence on Wednesday.
He said the storm activities would cause rainfall in several places.
After a two-day dense rainfall warning, the state government on Saturday issued a routine advisor to the district collectors to remain vigilant.
The Special Assistance Commissioner (SRC) office has sent counselors to collectors.
IMD rainfall reports recorded on Saturday morning said Umerkote in the Nabarangpur district recorded 80 mm rainfall in the last 24 hours.
