Noida: Apart from health care and pharmaceutical, one sector of liquor that witnessed the growth of enthusiasm during a pandemic in Noida and Greater Noida.
According to official data accessed by Toi, the liquor business produced during the previous financial year in Gautam Budh Nagar has become the highest in the last three fiscal, even though there is closure of shops and economic slowdown in covid induced.
Both the number of stores and license fees also rise in the district.
Excise officer RB Singh said that license fees have been carried out by 7.5% during the current financial year (2021-22) and 15% in the previous fiscal.
“We still succeed in increasing the number of liquor bells in Noida, Greater Noida and other parts of the district.
This shows people’s trust about the business prospects of the liquor regardless of the pandemic,” he said.
In fact, the overall income – from the cost of sales and licensing costs of liquor – collected in Gautam Budh Nagar during the previous fiscal increased by 15%, according to officials.
This is regardless of the closing of the store because of Covid-19 and locking consequences.
All-round growth has been recorded even though the level of Indian foreign liquor brands remain unchanged for the last three fiscal.
Jogendra Singh, Director Joint Excise Ministry, said, “This department has analyzed the level of liquor brands in neighboring countries.
Over the past three years, the level of liquor and beer has been rationalized to prevent smuggling.
Similarly, the price of certain brands, which at price affordable in other countries, it has been revised upward because there is a scope of doing so.
“The department collection is expected to rise further during this fiscal (2021-22) because of the price of import and beer liquor (such as red label, J & B, Vodka Ballentine and absolute, among others) have been significantly cut this year and above.
“Although there are still differences in Rs 200 to Rs 500 on premium import brands, often we end up buying liquor from local stores only rather than visiting Delhi or Gurgaon,” said Prashant Prashant Stoptech Capetown Yadav.
Liquor traders despite saying that more challenges have emerged for them in various forms and support from the government above.
President of the Top Liquor seller’s welfare association, Sardar SP Singh said, “The cost of the model shops has been made very high.
It’s hard to run a model shop because not many people want to sit outside their homes and drinks.
This department reduces retailor margins.
