Nagpur: The ambitious Patanjali Ayurved project in Mihan-sez may not be rolling from the new year and so on as claimed.
Deepak Kapoor, Deputy Chairperson of the Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC), has stated that Patanjali has been given a strict time limit to get factory operations on December 31.
This plant also has not received a high voltage connection needed for the industry.
MADC is the Mihan project developer which includes a special economic zone (SEZ) and the domestic rate area (DTA).
Patanjali has acquired more than 200 hectares in DTA in 2016 through the bidding process.
At that time it was announced that the project would be ready in less than a year.
After Kapoor took over as Madc’s head, he began to follow up on the project and set a tight deadline on December 31.
Kapoor has also posted on social media about how close the work on the Patanjali site is being monitored.
Kapoor did not respond to calls and messages that were looking for comments were also missed.
Things also start moving with a key machine installed on the site.
However, resources say the December 31 deadline may not be fulfilled.
Efforts are being made to start the project next month at least.
Acharya Balkrishna, Managing Director of Patanjali Ayurved, told TII that the company had taken all steps from its side but there was a little cooperation from the state government institution.
“Even other production lines are ready, it may take time to start.
Orange processing facilities for equipment desires,” he said.
“There are certain backups that need to come from Germany.
A engineer should go down to install it.
However, that person cannot go down because Covid has delayed the project so far,” he told Ti.
Balkishna claims basic infrastructure such as roads and power has been postponed.
“Even when a small road has been built now, the industrial power connection still has to be done,” he said.
Industrial units get high voltage connections.
A source at MSEDCL said the application has been received recently and the connection will be given after a shared inspection.
Because this site is located in DTA, a different access road is needed, and it can only be achieved through Sez.
After the unit is operated, the item cannot be taken from the road.
“The road that is currently built will serve the purpose,” Balkrishna said.
