Nagpur: Amid concerns over the deficiency of coal and its impact on Western Western Power Plants (WCL), the main supplier of the state-owned electricity company Mahagenco – has 4.71 million tons (MT) from Pitheads.
Hypothesically, if the WCl stops production from now and continues to supply at the current level, there is enough coal to last for one month, the source said.
WCl based in Nagpur is a subsidiary of Indian coal Limited.
Every day, it is a 1.5 lakh ton of coal mine (0.15 mt).
The financial year began with the stock opening stock of 14.84 MT in April 1.
Users, especially generation companies, were also asked to lift stocks on time.
On October 12, WCl was left with coal which had been mined by 4.71 MT.
Fresh quantity continues to be extracted.
In 2020 it was considered a deviation because industrial activities had been beaten because of covid-induced locking.
WCL was left with 11.73 MT coal on October 2020.
The opening stock in April 2020 was 14.30 mt.
If 2019, which is a normal year, is considered, the remaining shares on the date are still higher.
On October 12, 2019, WCl was left with a 3.17MT coal.
This means that despite higher crises and power demand, WCL is left with additional coal 1.54mt during fiscal is currently compared to 2019, the source said.

Mahagenco plants have a total capacity of more than 13,000 MW.
From this, more than 10,000 MW is the thermal power produced by burning coal.
