Noida: Farmers have approached the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) for “illegal detention” more than 40 people for three days of protest marching to the Noida Authority Office last week.
Sunil Awana lawyer, representing Sukhvir Pahelwan farmer leader, in complaints has alleged that around 40 farmers detained under the CRPC 151 (2) section on August 31 or on September 1 and September 2, and have not been released after 24 hours.
The CRPC 151 (2) section said no person who was detained must be held for a period of exceeding 24 hours since he was picked up unless further detention or authorized under other CRPC provisions or from other laws for time was in force.
