City: 45-year-old man who practiced exorcism captured in the adjacent district of Jhalawar for raping a little girl who was brought to him by his parents to get rid of some physical ailments, police said in the old days.
Meghwal Raghuveer defendant raped the girl on Wednesday evening after sending his parents to a nearby village to bring some material to perform the rituals to get rid of her “demons”, Ahmed Kirdar SHO Police Station Kawai Police in Jhalawar district.
After the girl’s parents returned with all the material for the exorcism, they found their daughter in all conditions more abnormal and asked, he told his parents what had made him him, said Ahmad.
The girl’s parents later filed a complaint and the man was arrested on Friday after she was medically examined and a statement recorded before a magistrate, he said.
The defendant has been restored in judicial custody by a court Jhalawar, he said.
