Kanpur: Director General (Lapas) Anand Kumar on Monday visited Fatehgarh district prison to record the clashes Sunday morning between prisoners and police, causing the death of a prisoner.
He said that during the initial investigation came to the fore that Shivam prisoners had died from bullet wounds.
“A committee of three senior prison administrative officers has been formed to investigate the incident that leads to the death of Shivam inmates.
Decisive action will be taken against anyone who is guilty immediately after the investigation report comes.
This will be investigated how bullets and firearms reach in prison and who shoot prisoners, “Kumar said when he spoke to reporters outside the fatehgarh prison.
The police previously claimed that Shivam suffered an injury in his stomach and lost his life while being taken to the hospital on Sunday.
However, in a recognized video that continued to spread on social media, Shivam had himself claimed before his death that he suffered a bullet injury.
The autopsy report, which was carried out on Sunday night, however, stated that the bullet bore was not confirmed.
Kanpur Commissioner Division, Raj Shekhar, meanwhile said the government was being briefed on all material.
Shivam’s cremation was carried out on the banks of the Ramganga River in his native village Jainapur on Monday.
Initially, the Shivam family member refused to cremate his body and demanded the authorities first register the case against those responsible for his death.
After two and a half hours of persuasion, the last ceremony was carried out in the middle of the tight security of the police.
FIR has been submitted by a prison head from Fatehgarh, Akhilesh Kumar against 27 names and some unknown inmates, accused them of causing burning, sabotage and attacks in prison on Sunday morning, at the Kotwali police station.
The prison head has stated in the complaint on Sunday around 8:00, he along with Deputy Prison Shailesh Kumar Singh Sonkar was sitting in the District Prison Office, Fatehgarh.

They were also burned by the battery mounted on RO plants, which caused a hard explosion and which caused major financial losses.
Because of the battle of joint faction, there was a fight between the detainee group and at Barrack No.-2, one of the detainees was seriously injured.
To recall, a prisoner at Fatehgarh district prison in Farrukhabad has died and 30 police officers were injured on Sunday during protests by prisoners who turned into violence.
Prisoners in prison protested the death of fellow inmates, allegedly due to negligence from prison staff.
However, the police claimed that the word inmate, Sandeep Yadav, died on Saturday night at the hospital during treatment for dengue fever.
Some other prisoners began to protest outside their barracks after they came to know about Yadav’s death on Sunday morning.
They allegedly attacked prison officials when they served their breakfast and were also allegedly involved in combustion in prison.
The police then managed to control the situation.
In this case, 30 police were injured, and deputy prison head, too, was attacked by prisoners.
Shivam’s stomach injury was allegedly sustainable during the violence.
He was treated at the district hospital, but died during treatment.
“A judicial investigation will be carried out into the death of Sandeep Yadav, who died during hospital treatment,” said Farrukhabad District Judge Sanjay Kumar Singh.
