Nagpur: Agritech agrochemical company, who recently acquired shares in making drones, plans to take advantage of its position after the government announced the SOP to allow the use of drones in spraying plants.
SOP was released a day ago, said the Chairman of the RG Agarwal Company at a press conference here on Thursday.
The company will also take part in the Agrovision exhibition starting from Friday.
“About four months ago we have taken stocks in the iotechworld start-up avigation, which made drones with the name Agribot.
With the current SOP, the use of drones in agricultural operations is expected to increase,” said Agrawal.
Dhanuka expects to start commercial drone services to farmers by the next Kharif season.
It will begin with commercial plants such as horticulture, he said.
This can include wine and oranges.
The company will use a distributor network to reach farmers with its services.
Farmers deal with fruits and other horticultural plants is preferred because they quickly adopt new technologies, said agrawal.
The chairman of the company said even when Dhanuka had an advantage because of its investment in drone makers, other companies are expected to join the race soon.
Drone operation is a new business that appears in the agricultural sector and is expected to relieve work, covering the maximum area.
This will also lead to trained pilot requirements to handle drones.
The pilot needs to get approval from DGCA, said agrawal.
With a decrease in the supply of labor in the agricultural sector, the mechanization is expected to emerge as a solution, he said.
Only permitted pesticides are sprayed through service, agrawal added.
