Dharwad: District administration has forbidden the installation of Ganesha idols in public places in the Dharwad district considering fear of the possibility of the third wave.
The decision for this effect was taken at an official meeting chaired by deputy commissioner Nitesh Patil in Dharwad on Monday.
Patil said that this festival would be celebrated in September but as a measure of security, it has been decided to ban idol installations in public places.
Last year, a similar decision was taken to contain the spread of infection.
It was separate, the fire crackers exploded during the festival only had to use green firefier crackers passed by CSIR and Neer, said DC.
He said that there was a surge in infection level in neighboring Maharashtra and Kerala.
Experts believe that cases can surge in several border districts in Karnataka in August-end and the possibility of the third wave in September.
Evaluating the problems faced during the first and second waves, people must be extra careful during this time.
Therefore, the government has made a decision to cancel the Ganesha Festival in public places and people have been asked to celebrate the festival in the true spirit in their homes.

Even getting pop idols from other countries is completely prohibited and if there are organizations or people who try to avoid administration, decisive action will be taken, he warns.
Colored idols should not be immersed in the tank and open the well because they can pollute the water of people having to immerse idols in this tank, he said.
