Letter: After the highest Patidar leader at BJP from opponents of the city and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dhiru Gajera has returned to the fold of turmeric on Saturday, starting his political journey again.
Saurashtra Diamantaire, the oldest of Gajera Brothers, who runs a diamond business and real estate has parted ways with the party in 2007 before joining Congress.
Gajeras is a native of Amreli.
His brothers are running Laxmi Diamond, Diamond Scaling Unit, and Laxmi developers, a real estate development company, in the city.
On Saturday, Gajera was welcomed again at the party office in the city at an event attended by the Head of State C R Paatil and other BJP leaders.
Some of his supporters also joined BJP on the same day.
Political experts saw the return of Gajera as an effort to be in power to strengthen its base among Patide voters who recently chose for the sake of the AAM AADMI Party (AAP) in the election of the city.
Gajera, BJP MLA Three terms, have lost three assembly and one parliamentary election at the Congress ticket from the city.
He fought the election of the Assembly as a Congress Candidate in 2007, 2012 and 2017 and tried his luck in the selection of Lok Sabha in 2009.
He resigned from Congress in 2019 when he was the Vice President of the Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee.
“I’m not happy from the inside but because of my stubborn nature, I did not change my decision,” said Gajera to the media after joining BJP.
“I oppose and lose elections.
BJP is fine under the leadership of Narendra Modi and Amit Shah and therefore, I return to the party,” he added.
The observer opened that the BJP’s move brought back the Gajera, it seemed more is a reactionary decision after entrepreneur Mahesh Savani, once a BJP supporter, joined AAP recently.
Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAA) letter worked for AAP in the recent city selection after cracking with Congress.
It resulted in AAP’s victory on 27 out of 120 seats, especially in areas dominated by Patidar.
