Ahmedabad: The Gujarat High Court has said that he wants five industrial units near the city of Dholka to save and revive the lake near Bhetavda Village and request a response from this industry.
The Justice J B B B Pardiwala and Justice V D Nanavati has been looking for replies from the industry and directed the Gujarat pollution control board (GPCB) to contact the industry and work on modalities for water repair.
It was in response to pills submitted in 2018 by residents of three villages – Bhapat, Trasad and NESDA – who complained that waste water treated with incorrectly from the Dholka Nagarpalika’s Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) was disposed of at Waterbody.
In addition, only 70% of Dholka waste were treated and 30% waste water was dumped directly.
The villagers complain that regardless of the debit of STP, water is contaminated by chemical waste.
It not only contaminated water contaminated but also ground water and becomes difficult for them to use water for drinking and irrigation needs, said Advocate of the Petitioner of the Hardik Shah.
The High Court has ordered four companies – Concord Biotech Ltd, Cadila Pharmaceutical, Vasa Pharmachem Pvt Ltd, and GATEX Industries – to be applied as parties in litigation.
They have denied allegations that water has been contaminated because of their discharge.
On October 26, GPCB submitted a report and submitted that the steps for improvement to Lake Bhānavada need to be initiated by the industrial unit.
It is also named a unit again, Dharamchand Ultrachem Pvt Ltd, which must be asked to help clean water.
In addition, the GPCB tells HC that Dholka STP cannot function properly because there is often a power failure in the area.
For this, HC issues the direction needed for power supply without interruption so that the treatment plant can function with full capacity and for direct power recovery if a disturbance occurs.
Further hearing was posted on November 16.
