Surat: Every year thousands of civil service candidates from South Gujarat travel to Ahmedabad or Mumbai to appear for the UNI Public Service Commission (UPSC).
Now, district administration of the letter tries to get the UPSC prelims center allocated for Diamond City.
According to administrative officials district letter, a team from UPSC is likely to immediately visit the city.
The team will examine the available infrastructure and if the facility matches the requirements there is a bright chance that a center may be allocated to the city.
At present, Ahmedabad and Rajkot have a preliminary center.
For the Ahmedabad Main Examination is the only center in the state.
At present, a large number of students must travel to Ahmedabad, Rajkot and Mumbai for the exam.
“The process of providing the UPSC Prelims exam center has begun.
Because we have infrastructure, we hope that letters will get the center,” said Aayush Oak, District collector, letter.
“For the UPSSC exam center, a city must have facilities where more than 4,000 students can appear for exams.
We have enough facilities such as the letter,” Oak added.
Teachers and students who prepare for competitive exams also increase for the UPSSC center in the letter.
“If the letter gets a center, it will be beneficial for many students.
This will provide economic and psychological benefits for students,” said Bipin Trivedi, Tutor at the Sambhav Training Center which was run by Dr.
Ambedkar Vanvasi Kalyan Trust.
“Along with UPSC we must have the main GPSC center too in the city,” Trivedi added.
For South Gujarat students and the district bordering Maharashtra, a downtown will have various advantages.
“Now if we go to Ahmedabad or Rajkot we have to reach there a day in advance.
We have to spend accommodation and food too,” said Prakash Patel, a civil servant candidate.
“The center in a letter will be an advantage for Dang, Tami and Valsad students,” Patel added.
Every year more than 5,000 students appear in the civil service exam from the region.
