Dibrugarh ‘lemon village’ to increase work

Dibrugarh: The “Lemon Village” model will come in Naharkatia, 67 kilometers from the city of Dibrugarh, with the aim of increasing entrepreneurship and increasing the local economy.
Dibrugarh Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha on Thursday inaugurated the project to develop Cheleng Chuk Village, under the naharkatia income circle, as a village model of a lemon cultivation.
Under the project, 125 families of Agrarian village will be made independent through lemon cultivation and sales.
In the first phase, around 2,200 lemon puppies will be planted in the village, while the final goal is to plant 10,000 factories.
“Lemon Village” is part of an ambitious program carried out by the District Administration Dirrugarh and the Ministry of Agriculture.
Cheleng Chuk Village, which spreads more than 83.7 hectares with a population of 570, has many varieties from Assam Lemon, which is known locally as “Gol Nemu” and “Kaji Nemu”.
“Cheleng Cheleng Village Naharkatia is already famous for its production of lemon.
Good lemon quality, climate conditions are suitable for growth and have the market ready among local populations.
We want to develop villages as a lemon village model.
This will increase entrepreneurship and generate income, regardless of economic rejuvenating Local.
We have involved six self-help groups in the process and more than 2,000 lemon puppies will be planted in the next seven to 10 days.
We will facilitate funds and provide scientific training to people, “Jha said.
He also emits the belief that Lemon will be able to find a good market throughout the state.
