New Delhi: The power minister R K Singh on Monday questioned the motives of the Banerjee Mamata to oppose the Government Lottery Delicensing proposed in the 2021 electricity bill (amendment) 2021 with the aim of delivering competition and providing customer service providers such as cellular phones.
“Why does he want to protect monopoly in the power distribution sector, especially when Kolkata has one of the highest rates in this country,” Singh said.
Even though Singh did not mention the name, he clearly referred to Sanjeev Goenka Group Company Cesc which had a distribution monopoly in Kolkata.
“Raj license must go (in distribution) so that investors can enter.
If there is no investment that comes then we will be left in the dark.
Why consumers must be rejected by the benefits of the competition,” Minister said but emphasized that he was “aware” from the letter but had not seen it Since aimed at PM.
