Digital copies of 500 books to take assamese literature to young people

Guwahati: Sahitya Asam Sabha has released a digital copy of more than 500 old and valuable books in an effort to preserve the works of the contributors to the big literature of Assamese and bring young people throughout the world in a new format.
The books were published since the 19th century had been borne in the digitization project initiated by Sabha and Amtron.
“This is a community assisted project, where educational institutions and many civilians have extended support and taking part,” said President Sabhar Kuladhar Saikia.Saikia, who also a former DGP, said, “This is the first time that the literary body has stepped into Internet world.
This step, I believe, will help in taking literature Assamse throughout the world.
People who live in various parts of the world will now be able to access these writings.
“He said the adoption of advanced technology would also help Sabha spread and promote.
Assam literature among the generations who understood digitizing technology around 300 old and important books of different genres and Nagaon College had digitized around 30 books.
“Likewise, various educational institutions, including cotton universities, have advanced to take part in the project,” he added.

The literary body also has taken the initiative to take the story of the People of Assam and people from different tribes, including carriage, misting and Deori, through podcasts among the youth.
“Talsa folk of various tribes in Assam is very unique.
Children of the current era are technology experts.
Taleng podcasts will attract children and they will be able to learn about the country’s rich literature,” said Saikia.
Sabha has released podcasts on the YouTube channel and in Spotify.
Reading and poetry readings have also been covered by podcasts.
