Kolkata: Spike Covid remains lower than the recording nail on January 9 but still has 21,098 new cases in Bengal and 6,565 in Kolkata.
The level of participants also showed a slight decline but remained at 33.3% with 65,210 tests in a broad status, with a quick antigen test that contributed around 47% of the total amount.
Covid fatality stood in 19 in Bengal, including six in Kolkata, on Tuesday.
“The fall in the number of new cases is because there are fewer tests.
New cases tend to fall further because the number of tests is expected to go down again after the revised ICMR test guide.
Therefore, absolute amount does not make sense for now.
Infection too Spread rapidly in other districts, “said a senior health official.
Spike Covid Case is the sharpest on Sunday with Bengal recording 24,287 cases and Kolkata 8,712 cases.
On that day, 71,664 samples were tested.
On Monday, when there were 51,675 tests, Bengal reported 19,286 and Kolkata reported 5,556 cases everyday.
Experts don’t read much into the slide of the daily case because it reduces the testing rate.
The level of participants on Monday remains high at 37.3%.
“Case load fluctuates, depending on the number and type of test.
Therefore, this number is not a problem.
What is important is a very high level of progress,” said the surgical professor at Ipgmer Diplipendra Sarkar.
Experts, however, show that the case of Kolkata seems more or less stable.
We need to observe this downhill trend for several more days, they said.
Negorting North 24 Parana recorded 4,000-plus cases on Tuesday.
Other districts such as Howrah, Hooghly and South 24 parganas also report cases in four digits even though the test is relatively low there.
