Data recently released by the All India Technical Education Council (AICTE) revealed that the management school throughout the country had witnessed a 23% placement in 2020.
Digital disorder.
Anil D Sahasrabudhe, Chair, Aicte, said that employers want to know more than just a potential degree of candidates before hiring it.
“Previously, offline internship introduced the company for student personality and characteristics such as the way they worked in teams, their time management, solving problems and soft and more skills.
With an online internship, this important stepping stone to the final placement has received big hiccups,” he said .

Similarly, online interviews make it difficult for companies to get additional insights about potential employee soft skills such as their communication skills and skills.
“All of this caused a decline in last year’s last placement,” Sahasrabudhe said.
With standstill.
Because of a pandemic, all sectors suffer from setbacks.
With a business decline, automatically the number of new recruits taken throughout the industry witnessed a slowdown.
“Recent conversations with various players in all sectors have revealed that with their business activities slowly returning to its track, they want to be a more active part of this year’s placement process,” added Sahasrabudhe.
Reduced payment capacity
About the number of students who took the entrance ticket in the management course in the 2020-2021 session, the Chairperson said that while Aicte did not have formal data, the number of acceptances seemed to have been affected.
“With all sectors that suffer from pandemics, even families have suffered huge losses in personal income.
With this, students seem to have delayed their plans for higher education until the Pandemic post session,” Sahasrabudhe said.
Internship portal.
Fruitful internship is one of the best ways to get placement at the end of professional courses.
Unfortunately, because of a pandemic, various universities in Tier-II and III cities cannot provide their students with the best opportunities in this matter, said Sahasrabudhe.
“Aicte recently launched a portal to empower students to apply and get the most suitable internship for them.
So far, this portal offers 11½ lakh summer and semester of internship opportunities.
We hope this will bring change to the final placement number,” he said .
Entrepreneurship Wayinstead provides very important for placement, students will now be encouraged to go by entrepreneurship, said Sahasrabudhe.
“The last year has taught us about the uncertainty of life.
Students now have to be encouraged and taught in a way that helps them take a leap into an entrepreneur.
From being a job seeker, they must be able to increase the work scene of the state and become a job provider,” he added.
Data collected by Aicte showed that only 92,322 students in the management course had graduated with work in the hands of the management of Aicte approved management in 2020-21 compared to 119,546 students in the previous year.
School B in countries known as the strong service sector also reported placements in placement, including Maharashtra (20%), Karnataka (15%), Tamil Nadu (28%), Madhya Pradesh (28%) and Uttar Pradesh (28 %)).
The sharp decline in the placement rate has dropped to a nine-year low of 2020, disclosing data.
