DIP leaves October Maha with Vax Covid 90L dosage

Mumbai: Even when the country sits in more than 90 doses of Lakh Covid-19 vaccine, the deterioration of October in vaccination has placed a question mark on its plan to cover the entire population that qualifies with at least one shot in December.
Immunization against Covid-19 fell 31% in October compared to September due to mainly celebrations and fear of reduced in covid itself.
The Chairman of the Minister of Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday expressed concern over a slow vaccination rate and said he would take problems during interaction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi next week.
Thackeray, spoke during an informal meeting with journalists, said that vaccine doubts were a problem and urged people to spill their obstacles and get vaccinations.
Calculations at a glance show that 100% single dose coverage can be achieved in the next two months (except Sunday) if 4.66 lakh people come out to get empty space.
Targets can be achieved faster if the daily average increases to 7.5 lakh doses, which is seen in September and has become the best Maharashtra.
Dr.
Pradeep Vyas, Main Secretary (Health), confirmed that the state has more than 90 doses of lakh and there is no shortage of supply.
Dr.
Sachin Desai, state immunization officer, said the district was convinced that the first dose immunization would not drag until next year.
“We believe that the daily numbers will see a post-diwali increase,” he said.
Maharashtra has a 9.14 crore adult population, where 73% have got one shot.
“It left 2.46 crores to get their first jab.
The number can be covered easily if the people of Lakh-5 Lakh-5 came out and get vaccinated every day,” Desai said, adding that the state could handle three times.
Maharashtra has claimed to have the capacity of giving 15 times a day, a landmark achieved only once on September 8 in October, even the 10 lakh sign did not cross even.
The highest one-day coverage is a little more than 8 lakh, reaching three times.
The daily average floated at around 5 lakh, down from 7.5 lakh in September.
Overall, after a 2.2 crore dose record was given in September, only 1.56 crore doses were given in October.
“We have stock and capacity.
Only people have to appear,” said an immunization officer.
On Friday, the state receives 30 other lakh doses, which encourages available stocks to more than 90 lakh.
“The Slackening of Pace has been recorded throughout India,” Desai said.
Mumbai, the most vaccinated district, a few inches from touching a single dose coverage of 100%.
“We have enough stock, but the selection is very weak,” said Suresh Kakani, the Supplementary City Commissioner.
The corporation hopes to touch 100% in October but has fallen short by 2%.
The estimated population of the city of 92 lakh, 91.15 lakh has received the first dose, according to Cowin.
Kakani said that the second dose coverage of all populations could shed until the end of January.
In Mumbai, more than 4 lakh had not taken a second shot despite the maturity for it.
The state has been fully vaccinated only one third of the population (3 crore), which means the immunization program will drag up to several months next year.
More than 70 lakh people were due to the second dose they had not yet advanced to take a shot.
