Diploma courses can replace vocational: Goa CM Pramod Sawant

PANAJI: CM Pramod Sawant on Saturday said that the State Government intends to get rid of vocational schools at a higher middle level and instead introducing a Diploma course three years after class X.

, Hospitality Management, but we want to add another year to the same course and make it a three-year diploma course and this is being considered.
Before the next academic year, we will give permission to start this course with the workforce and existing infrastructure, “he said.
Sawant said that students will benefit from such courses and state governments will also be able to have a more skilled workforce in Goa.
The minister’s chairman said that because the international airport appeared in Mapa in Pernem Taluka, this skilled workforce was very important.
“XII vocational certificates are not useful for work and that is the reason we would like to introduce this course,” he said.
CM: New education policy from next year said the committee formed by the state government to see the implementation of new education policies has submitted their reports and new education policies will be held next year.
He said that to encourage students to join technical education, the state has started a new scheme and costs have been reduced by 50% for students who join technical education at private and government universities.
The minister’s chairman said that the cost of graduation rate has been reduced by 50%.
He also said coding and robotics will be introduced from class VI and training for the main trainers has begun.
“I always see the future of students and we want to produce technocrats in the next 25 years,” he said.
Sawant said that the intention to pass the private university bill was to create different courses available for students after class XII, graduation and graduate.
He said the state government wants university skills development and designing universities to start.
He further said that the state government has given approval to three private universities to start in the state.
