Coimbatore: District recorded 563 fresh Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, even when 986 patients were excluded from various treatment centers, carrying active cases down to 4,676.
The recovery rate has increased to 96.9% with 2,12,285 from 2,18,990 people, who have tested the positive virus until now, recovered from infections in the district.
However, Covid-19 victims jumped to 2,029 with the country including 12 fatalities that occurred in the district in the bulletin.
While the doctor suggested even people who were vaccinated to take all Covid-19 prevention measures such as wearing masks, social distance and often washing hands to prevent other waves, they have warned of overdoing several steps such as inhaling steam and consumption of vitamin C.

S Murugananth, Nephrology Consultants and Kidney Transplant Doctors, Royal Care Hospitals, said excess vitamin C in the intestine will turn into oxalate, which will be stored along the kidney tissue and can turn into a stone after combined with calcium.
“Vitamin C intake suggested every day is only 100GM and which can be obtained from natural sources.
500mg Vitamin C tablets can be maximally consumed for three weeks on stretching, once a day, once in six months.
Even it is not needed for healthy people.”
