Coimbatore: A 66-year-old disabled man died after being hit by a fast sports utility vehicle (SUV) on the road near Sivananda Colony in the city on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Natarajan, 66, from Kannappan Nagar near Sivananda colonies.
Daily bet, Natarajan uses a wheelchair to move.
While passing a train trail, the SUV that quickly hit him from behind.
He was thrown from a wheelchair and fell.
Natarajan gave up on an injury in place.
Relatives Natarajan arrested the driver of the SUV, Gubera Anand, and struggled before handing it to Rathinapuri police.
The case was registered under Section 304 (a) IPC resources.
Police said that the vehicle was registered in the name of Uma Mageshwari from Puram Hospital.
The vehicle was used by DMK functioner.
However, he was not in the vehicle when the accident took place.
Meanwhile, Coimbatore North Mla Amman K Arjunan reached the crash point and talked to the deceased relatives.
He urged the police to get compensation for the family who died.
