Disappointed because LS can’t work, said Birla

New Delhi: The Speaker Om Birla on Wednesday expressed disappointment because Lok Sabha could not function as expected during the Monsun session.
After the house was postponed Sine Die (for an unlimited period), Birla discussed the media and said the members held the plaque, raising the slogan at the Well of Lok Sabha not in accordance with the tradition.
Lok Sabha only functions 21 hours during the Monsun session and its productivity is at 22 percent, said Birla.
“I tried my best to run the house smoothly and gave the same opportunity to all members but home productivity was very bad during this session unlike the previous session from the 17th Sabha,” said Birla.
“Some rounds of the meeting took place and efforts were made to reach consensus but it could not happen to some problems.
We must hope that the house will be allowed to run smoothly in the future because people in the country have a lot of hope from Parliament,” Birla add.
Lok Sabha was postponed at Sine Die on Wednesday, ending the storm monsun session scheduled to conclude on August 13.
“Will call a meeting of all parties to review the existing parliamentary rules.
We need to review the existing rules and framing them Birla.
Opposition protests over ROW Pegasus surveillance, agricultural laws and other issues have continued to damage the trial since the beginning of the session on July 19.
The question of the clock witnessed the interference of most of the day during this session, while the house managed to pass the bill raft, including the constitutional amendment bill that would allow the state to list their OBC.
Birla also informs that the construction of a new parliament building is expected to be completed before August 15 next year.
