NEW DELHI: The reimbursement asserted to India’s outstanding gamers following the 2020 Ranji Trophy year stood cancelled beneath the COVID-19 pandemic is not yet been disbursed as country units have not shipped in the required particulars, BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal told PTI on Monday.

In an recent article from the UK’s’Telegraph’ paper, it came to light that the BCCI is yet to split the T20 World Cup runners-up prize funds of $550,000 with all the Indian women’s group. The Board reacted by promising to provide this week.

Even the Ranji Trophy compensation package is just another example of delay and inventing a suitable formulation for all is not as simple and terminal, Dhumal confessed.

“I will also confirm that obligations for your Vijay Hazare and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy also have been disbursed,” Dhumal advised.

Then he explained how the obligations are disbursed.

“It is the country institutions which increase the bill of their game fees of the players according to the amount of matches they’ve played or become a part of their collection. Verification of these information (matches performed ) is carried out by the countries.

“The GST also should be computed. In the event the nations delay in sending the invoices, then that occasionally also contributes to delay payments. Some nations, immediately following the close of the year, send the bill with due diligence along with their gamers instantly receive repayments,” explained Dhumal.

The senior players received their yearly retainer fees after almost 1 year, the rationale being the delay in signing the contracts.
