New Delhi: India on Thursday said the discussion took place with the US at the S-400 missile defense agreement, the day after Deputy Minister of State Wendy Sherman expressed the anxiety of the Russian weapons of New Delhi.
“It has been discussed between the two countries for some time.
It was raised and we discussed it and explained our perspective.
And the discussion about this was underway,” said spokesman for the External Affairs Arindam Bagchi.
He replied to the question of Sherman’s comments on Wednesday at the Indian-Russian deal.
Sherman, on a three-day visit to India, told reporters that every decision about the possibility of sanctions on the S-400 agreement would be made by President Joe Biden and State Secretary Antony Blinken.
The Indian problem that bought the S-400 missile system from Russia showed in Sherman’s broad talks with a foreign secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla on Wednesday and both parties hoped to find a way out of dialogue.
“We are quite common about any country that decides to use the S-400.
We think it’s dangerous and not in anyone’s security interest.
That said, we have a strong partnership with India,” Sherman said.
“We want to be very wise about ways in front, and discussions between our countries try to solve problems and I hope we will be able to be in this regard also,” he said.
Chief of Air Chief Air Marshal VR Chaudhary said on Tuesday that the first batch of the S-400 missile defense system would arrive in India from Russia this year.
The US has imposed sanctions on Turkey under American enemies against Action Act (Caatsa) for the purchase of the S-400 missile defense from Russia.
In October 2018, India had signed a $ 5 billion contract with Russia to buy five units of the S-400 air defense missile system, despite the warning from the Trump administration which continued the contract could invite sanctions to us.
India made the first tranche payment of around $ 800 million to Russia for the missile system in 2019.
The S-400 is known as the most advanced long-term missile-to-air defense system.
Following US sanctions in Turkey, there were fears that Washington could wear the same steps to India.
The Russian ambassador to India Nikolay Kudashev said in April that Russia and India did not recognize bilateral sanctions because they “illegal tools” from the competition and pressure that violated the law and unfair “.
