NEW DELHI: The practice of disengagement across the Line of Actual Control (LAC) stays incomplete and its historical conclusion from the rest of the areas could cause de-escalation of forces in southern Ladakh, which might pave the way for complete recovery of peace and tranquillity, India said on Thursday.

India and China reached a five-point arrangement to solve the southern Ladakh border standoff during discussions between External affairs Union S Jaishankar along with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in a meeting in Moscow on September 10 in the sidelines of some Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) conclave.
The pact included steps like rapid disengagement of troops, preventing action that may escalate tensions, adherence to most of protocols and agreements to border control and measures to reestablish peace over the LAC.
India and China are locked in a military standoff in various friction points in southern Ladakh since early May last year however they’ve finished the withdrawal of weapons and troops by the North and South banks of Pangong river at February after a string of diplomatic and military discussions.
