Disputes between departments must be completed by the Government, not a Court: Supreme Court

New Delhi: When a dispute between the Department of Government always ends in court, the Supreme Court on Tuesday raises questions about why the center is reluctant to overcome them instead of depending on the court to try.
While hearing the legal battle between the General Commission & the Census of the Registrar and LIC, the judicial bench Sanjay Kishan Kuli and MM Sundresh said that some types of mechanisms must be applied by the government to resolve the dispute and the court will not be burdened with the case.
The court said that there were many cases raised in court including disputes between public sector units and the tax department.
“I haven’t found the government to take a stance to sort out such problems and they always want a court to sort out the problem,” said SC.
SC heard the appeal submitted by the census commission that challenged the verdict of Gujarat HC holding that LIC employee service could not be asked for census work by the Commission.
