Coimbatore: District recorded 175 fresh Covid-19 cases on Saturday, even when 243 patients were excluded from various maintenance centers, carrying active cases to 2,222.
While it was 2.23,624 of them to recover from virus infections in the district to date at the 98% recovery rate.
Covid-19 toll road, meanwhile, rose to 2,154 with the country including three deaths that occurred in the health bulletin that day.
It is the lowest death calculation that the district has noted in five days.
However, the district, along with Nilgiris and Salem, topped the country in the number of Covid deaths that day.
Tandem with a drop in daily loads, the level of testing the test has dropped to 2% in the district.
However, the death rate in the last five days seems relatively high.
The district has recorded 16 Covid-19 deaths since July 20.
Given that the district has recorded 919 new cases during the period, the mortality rate reached 1.74%.
This is much higher than the overall death rate of the state by 0.9%.
Health workers said the death rate usually fell only two weeks after a decline in new cases.
Some patients, they said, had given up on the virus after hospitalization for a month.
“The death rate will only fall two weeks after swimming in the number of new cases.
So, the death rate is expected to fall in two to three more weeks.
In fact, 16 of the latest victims have contracted a virus at the end of June and was hospitalized for 20-30 days , “said a health department official.
He said the people’s attitude had also changed.
“With these cases plummeted, even senior citizens and those who have comorbidities are not treated at the hospital after testing positive viruses.
They must have been vaccinated but it is not a reason to take infection with light.”
