Coimbatore: District reported 863 fresh covid cases on Tuesday when Kasel increased by 261 compared to 602 cases on Monday.
The number of active cases in maintenance also increased to 3,574 in the district, even when 191 patients were dismissed after treatment on Tuesday.
With the state government including one more Covid fatality in health bulletins, the total number of people who surrendered to the virus in the district has reached 2,527.
Health officials said the effort contained the spread of the virus.
