The purpose of this scheme is to ensure that students have easy access to distance classes, get content for study and information related to work,” said a government spokesman.
Free tablets and smartphone schemes were announced by CM earlier this year and cleaned by the cabinet.
New applications will be used by the Institute of Education or Universities concerned to provide study material to students, along with information about work-related schemes and other youth welfare schemes.
Kumar Vineet, Special Secretary (IT and Electronics), said that the government would sign a contract with infosys for the company to provide more than 3,900 programs related to education and work for young people for free.
“The government has made a complicated plan to empower young people.
Through smartphones and tablets, youth will be given excellent content for studies, competitive examinations and information about the work that they can become independent,” he said.
In the first phase of distribution, smartphones and tablets will be given to young people in the last year of their study.
