District admin to ensure adequate oxygen supply to 1.2 lakh patients

Nagpur: District administration, under Collector R Vimala, prepare to supply oxygen without interruption to 1.2 lakhs patients in the peak of the third wave that is anticipated Covid that will make the provisions for at least 173 metric tons (MT) for distribution without depending on the source external.
In clone waves, the covid peak has led to the request for around 195 MT oxygen triggered by around 80,000 patients in different hospitals.

As part of the third wave preparedness, Divisional Commissioner Prajaka Lavangare Verma, Vimala and FDA officials such as Commissioners with Mahesh Gerekar and Asst Commissioner PM Ballal visited INOX Air Limited and Aditya Air Products Private Limited in the Bori Bori Industrial Area earlier this week for reviewing Production capacity and functional modalities in two oxygen.

During the second wave, INOX played a key role as the main source of liquid oxygen medical (LMO) and Aditya Air Products with an air separation unit and refilling.
INOX, which has a production capacity of 90 MT, is now able to take production to 100 mt and even more now with new equipment .va said the plant supply oxygen and management they played a commendable role and the visit was to ensure functional modalities and their production capacity proved to be productive .
“We want to review and receive feedback from factory management.
Apart from oxygen inventory, efforts are now done to sort and resolve other problems on the ground as a labor vacancy in the key position by taking it with the authorities concerned,” he said.
Vimala said the two cryogenic oxygen production centers will come in Saeranna and Umrer and other oxygen production projects, the recharging unit or separation is also under the review of the district administration.
“Some pressure swing adsorption plants (PSA) are also under the process of preparing in different locations,” he said.
“We hope to be independent in terms of production of oxygen and supply before the onset of the next wave,” said a collector.
He added aspects of the use of industrial oxygen or their production capacity to produce medical oxygen can then be taken under the guidance of the division commissioner in the next phase.
