In the midst of the spread of heavy police, the district administration and police officials seized the Phoolan statue, which is now a rally point of Nishad’s clothing in the assembly poll.
This event is part of the program organized by Vikasheel Insa (VIP), who was recently announced to install statues of Phoolan statues in 18 districts (with a considerable population of the Nishad community) throughout the country and observed his death birthday at 25 July.
A program to install and uncover the 20-foot Devi Phoolan statue on the occasion of the commemoration of the 20th death (July 25) is proposed at the private school place in the village of Badli Purwa Kotwali.
This event must be attended by the leader of the Vikasheel Party Insa, who must install and uncover the statue.
As soon as information spreads, district administration at the end of Saturday night swung action and stopped the settings in connection with the opening of the Phoolan statue scheduled for Sunday and deploying a heavy police.
Circle Officer (CO) Bangaru, Ashutosh Kumar said that they had received information that the statue would be launched in a private school in Badli Purwa Village in the district.
The police rushed to the place and questioned the organizer in this matter.
“The organizer does not take permission from the district administration to regulate the valid function in Corona.
We then took the statue to our prisoner and shifted it to the Bangara police station.
Further investigation is taking place in this matter,” said the next co.
Sources informed that some villagers tried to protest to cause a tense moment but the police calmed them.
Phoolan Devi, who belongs to the Nishad community, was chosen by MP on the Samajwadi Party ticket from Mirzapur.
He was killed on July 25, 2001 outside his residence in Delhi.
Vikasheel Party Insaan, who is a partner in the Alliance of Decisions with Janata Dal (United) and BJP in neighboring Bihar, has announced to install the statues of the deceased Phoolan Devi in 18 districts where Nishads can play a major role in UPS 2022 assembly of polls.
To remember, on Friday, the Varanasi police had grabbed the Phoolan Devi statues after locals objected to the installation in the Nishad dominated region.
As many as 20 people, including 17 Thakurs, one Muslim, one Dalit and one owned OBC, was killed, while six others were injured by Phoolan and his aide on February 14, 1981 at Behmai at Kanpur Dayat.
The families of the victims were still waiting for justice who had avoided even 40 years after the massacre.
