Pune: As many as three oxygen plants are installed and made functional in all of the Pune districts in the past week.
Among them, two have been inaugurated within the limit of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), while someone is in a rural area of ​​Pune.
Now, this district has a total of 35 oxygen plants, and there are plans to almost doubled this number.
With the latest addition, the combined capacity of these units has increased to around 40 metric tons in the district.
The total target of district administration is to increase this capacity to more than 70 metric tons by installing a total of 65 of these plants throughout civil hospitals.
District health officials said that oxygen facilities in the three zones have been given funds for corporate-social responsibility (CSR).
In particular, oxygen consumption has increased dramatically in the district earlier this year, during the peak wave of the second Covid-19 pandemic in April.
Demand, which has surged up to 363 metric tons per day at that time, has now fallen to 120-130 metric tons per day.
The Ministry of Health also strengthens its liquid oxygen storage capacity, which has now reached 339 metric tons.
Furthermore, it stated that there was a capacity of around 256 metric tons for this purpose in 20 private hospitals.
