Ahmedabad: Because the increasingly intensive global semi-conductor deficiency has strengthened the lack of production in the car sector, a car dealer watched the worst celebration season in a decade.
From Navratri to Diwali, the 42-day celebration season reported that overall 18% in sales of cars and two-wheeled, suggested data by the Federation of Automotive Dealer Association (Fada), which is the worst sale in decades.
Against 2,32 lakh vehicles including cars and two-wheeled cars sold during the Navratri-Diwali celebration season in 2020, only 1.91 lakh vehicles were sold during the same period this year, according to Fada.
Two-wheel sales decreased 15% while car sales showed a decisive decline of 32% during the period.
Explained the trend, Pranav Shah, Chair, Fada, Gujarat, said, “Two-wheel demand failed to increase due to the increase in the cost of ownership of two-wheeled vehicles and high fuel prices.
In addition, with more people working from home institutions and education not functioning , the number of two-wheeled buyers has just dropped.
“According to him, the ratio of loan rejection increased from 8% last year to 15% this year if two wheels.
“The moratorium on car loans is temporary.
Low income groups that cannot pay loans due to lack of income have a bad credit score, because where their car loan application is rejected,” Shah said.
Car sales have declined due to supply constraints triggered by semiconductor deficiencies, which caused a dramatic increase in the car waiting period, as high as 8-9 months.
“The waiting period for a particular fast sales model has increased dramatically.
This is especially true for electric vehicles and CNGRUN vehicles.
People prefer electric vehicles and customers are ready to wait too,” said a Ahmedabadbased dealer.
The dealer said that the old waiting period was the prevention of the celebration season.
