DJB identified 109 colonies to put the drain line

New Delhi: The Board of Jal Delhi has identified 109 colonies in the city where he will put sewerage pipelines in the middle of the year to trap all untreated water flowing into and polluting Yamuna.
Working in Thishas began in five major groups of colonies.
“The Delhi government has set deadlines to clean the river,” said a DJB official.
“We focus on untreated waste that directly flows into the river.
The work has begun to put the gutter line that will trap waste and direct the flow to the treatment plan.” The waste stream that is not checked from many colonies to the storm waterways and then to the river has been worrying the authority.
Realizing the problem in 2019, Chairman of the Minister of Arvind Kejriwal announced the scheme of free drain connectivity, Mukhyamantri Muft Sewer YOJNA, where the cost of development, road excavation and connection costs were released.
At 40 colonies in Vikaspuri in Southwest Delhi, the DJB was putting 124 km of the gutter line, which was 50km was finished.
The work here is expected to be completed in June.
All houses are expected to connect to the sewer.
Similarly, in Ranhola Delhi Barat, DJB currently identifies outfall points from existing sewers and simultaneously putting new drain channels around 50 colonies.
The board must lie around 217 km of gutter lines in the area, where 74km has been completed.
Nine colonies at Swaroop Nagar and three colonies in BhalSwa also received a new gutter line.
At Swaroop Nagar, 80km the pipe will be placed, while BhalSwa will get 40 km of waste lines.
“After this sewer pipe is placed, the waste from these colonies will be channeled to the waste treatment plant closest to this colony group,” DJB official said.
Previously, Water Minister Satyendar Jain had instructed DJB officials to improve all waste treatment plants in the city and give them 12-15 months to complete the task.
The state of art technology is being installed for this, unlike conventional technology that uses it will take years to complete an upgrade.
