Copenhagen: Tennis Champion Novak Djokovic has 80% of the company’s shares of Biotech Denmark Quanbiores, which aims to develop medical care to fight Covid-19, chief executive company told Reuters on Wednesday.
CEO Ivan Loncarevic, who described himself as an entrepreneur, said the investment was made in June 2020 but refused to say how much it was.
Quanbiores has around 11 researchers who work in Denmark, Australia and Slovenia, according to ConeBevic, which emphasizes they are working on treatment, not vaccines.
The company is developing peptides, which inhibits Coronavirus to infect human cells, and hope to launch clinical trials in the UK this summer, he added.
A spokesman for Djokovic did not immediately respond to a comment request.
Number one tennis has triggered a global debate about the rights of people who chose not to be vaccinated after he was deported from Australia on Sunday night, overriding it from the Australian Open.
