Alexander Zverev will take 11 consecutive wins to the US Open after adding the West & South’s title to the Olympic gold medal on Sunday but still planning Novak Djokovic as a favorite to take a degree in Flushing Meadows.
The German World Number Four beat Russia Andrey Rublev 6-2, 6-3 in less than an hour in Cincinnati to win the Masters 1000 tournament both in the season and fourth title.
Zverev appeared only to land his first grand slam title in New York when he lost the final to Dominic Thiem last year but said his preparation this season was very different.
