DK run out of covid-19 vaccine doses

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada District Health Office officials on Thursday said they were out of stock vaccine Covid-19.

BV Rajesh, Reproduction of Child Health (RCH) Officer, told Toi, the district had run out of all doses available on Thursday.
“We hope to receive 15,400 covishield doses on Saturday.
We also expect Covaxin stocks in one or two days,” Dr.
Rajesh said.

Sujay Bhandary, Mangaluru Taluk’s health worker, said that Mangalore received an average of 80,000 vaccine doses per week, it only received 40,000 doses in the past week and all the doses expired on Thursday.
“Initially, the supply was synchronized with demand and encouragement to invest in health workers and frontline workers went very smoothly,” Dr.
Bhandary said.

“Many people at the Government Hospital, including Wenlock Hospital must go home without receiving the Jab on Thursday.
In Dakshina Kannada District, 8.9 lakh has received the first dose and 2.7 lakh has taken the second dose so far.
Cases continued to make risems while, the Covid-19 case continued to rise in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi.
While 396 fresh cases and eight deaths were reported in Dakshina Kannada on Thursday, Udupi recorded 174 cases and one death.
