Mangaluru: With almost 89% of the population targeted at Dakshina Kannada after receiving the first dose of Covid vaccine, the Ministry of Health and Education has launched a program to involve school children to ask them to be hesitant to take jabs in greater public health interest.
At least 55% of the qualified population have received both doses.
District administration, through the Lasika Jagriti program, wants to drive the first dose coverage to at least 95%.
Dr.
Kishore Kumar District Health Officer said the campaign was launched in most schools within the city limits of Mangaloru where students were informed about the morning trip.
“The purpose of this campaign is that everyone is dried.
Our goal is to touch the earliest coverage of 95%.” He said every morning, the teacher would give students to the right behavior inside and outside the campus.
They asked students to convince people around them with vaccine doubts.
NSS students from various universities have been issued to call people who have not been pasted.
Kumar said NSS students had been given a designated place in the MCC war room.
They will convince people to take vaccines in the nearest PHC.
