“I have asked the government to establish a laboratory for the sequencing of intact genomes in our district.
Previously, the laboratory in Bengaluru did not have a backlog, but because of the detection of omicron variants, their workload might increase.
I have talked to the main secretary and he has been seeking details of requirements for Establishing a laboratory.
We will immediately send a proposal and try our best to see that the genome sequensing lab is set in Mangaluru, “DC said.
He added: “The government is seriously considering establishing a laboratory in Hassan or Mangaloru.
This lab will serve the need for South Carnataka including the district-related district-side district.”
