MANGALURU: After over a month, Dakshina Kannada district captured over 1,000 daily instances of Covid-19 on Friday.
The district reported 1,006 new cases and listed 15 fatalities, that’s the greatest daily Covid-19 death toll of this year.
The district reported 1,787 instances of Covid-19 on May 15.
Afterwards, the typical daily instances were decreased by 1,000 in May to 600 at June.
On the other hand, the spike in deaths lasted at the district.
Though the district reported 156 Covid-19 deaths in May, 111 deaths have been reported on Friday, with over 50 deaths from the past five days.
The district has thus far reported 1,024 deaths associated with Covid-19.
The positivity rate of the district rose from 7.2percent on Thursday about 10.1percent on Friday, and also the amount of active instances rose by 6,605 into 6,931.
DHO Dr Kishore Kumar M told TOI that the passing audit committee of this district was holding meetings at least two times per week.
“Late referral of cases hospitals is among the explanations for the rise in deaths.
Another reason is that the comorbidities in infected patients.
