DLSA rehabilitates 97 orphans in 4 months in East Singhbhum

JAMSHEDPUR: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) has rehabilitated 97 children, who have lost their one or both parents during a pandemic, under the Shishu Project launched on May 31.
“The calculation of orphans will increase because some cases are in the identification process,” said Secretary, DLSA, Jamshedpur, Nitish Neilesh Sanga.
Running under the supervision of the main judge of the main-cum-chairman, DLSA, Nalin Kumar, the goal of Project Shishu is to care for children who lose their guardians or parents and those who lose their parents who are the only breadwinner for the family.
Special Task Force (STF), is based on each district block to implement the project, including DLSA paralegal volunteers.
“He initiated during the second wave of Covid-19, the project achieved success due to unchanged support from the district administration, especially DC Suraj Kumar,” said Secretary DLSA.
The beneficiaries of the project receive benefits under eight government-sponsored welfare schemes.
It does not limit its role only for the rehabilitation of orphans, DLSA has entrusted paralegal volunteers with regular monitoring responsibilities of beneficiaries that aim to ensure they do not lose benefits at each stage.
“DLSA maintains data on recipient children and routine monitoring is being carried out,” Sanga said.
Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh from the Jharkhand High Court who is also the chairman of the Jharkhand Legal Services Authority (JHALSA) launched the project on May 31.
While implementing the project, DLSA volunteers found a primitive patient family in the Patamda Block, Dighi at Patamda.
Three orphans, who lost their parents, did not have a permanent place to stay.
Taking initiative, DLSA, coordinating with district administration, helping orphans.
“Acceptance at a housing school, provides benefits from the sponsored scheme, ayushman bharat card, linkage with YOJNA Anyodaya, in addition to Rs 15,000 as a funeral and independent grant of death, sports and school kits and food packages are provided for three orphans,” DLSA Secretary, “said .
