Coimbatore: City Police on Thursday arrested more than 70 members of the DMK when they protested in Selvapuram demanding that party leadership change candidates in number 77 for coimbatore polls.
The protesters accused the leader of the DMK C R Ravichandran allowing seats for “unhealthy candidates.” They demanded that leadership change Rajalakshimi candidates and provide seats for Mathiyazhagan babies.
In another incident, the DMK cadre protested the party’s leadership in front of the party office in Tirupur, condemning the allocation of 28 seats to the alliance in the election of the local city agency to come in Tirupur Municipal Corporation.
