Chennai: In the election of April assembly packaged action in the midst of a pandemic, DMK, who troubled the victory after 10 years of hiatus, had spent RS 114.14 Crore in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, said a report submitted by the Election Commission.
AIADMK led by o Panneerselvam and Edappadi K Palaniswami has spent Rs 57.33 Crore, while Allies Iershile, PMK shows a spending sheet for Rs 30 Lakh.
The Commission has released a statement of expenditure submitted by the parties after the election in Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Kerala and Puducherry earlier this year.
After announcing the cost of Rs 154.28 Crore, all Indian Trinamool Congress topped the party list with high expenses, followed by DMK.
Congress has spent Rs 84.93 Crore for polls.
It is still unclear whether BJP handed over his statement because the Commission has not released a report until Saturday.
DMK stated that he paid Rs 5 Crore to Indian Pac Consulting Private Limited towards the propaganda consultation fee.
The report submitted by Secretary General S Durai Murugan said he had received Rs 134 Crore from all sources, cash, checks and election bonds from the date of the election announcement to the date of completion.
It has spent Rs 48.75 Crore in candidates in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry – Payment of RS 25 Lakh is made for 188 candidates, which are contested in Tamil Nadu and Rs 15 Lakh to 13 candidates in Puducherry, in addition to Rs 5.72 Crore on Publishing criminal antecedents of candidates.

Interestingly, the party hired a helicopter only once for EPS during his campaign on April 1 and RS 13.23 Lakh payment was made against it.
