Chennai: DMK has nomined MM Abdullah as his candidate for Bypoll September 13 to Rajya Sabha from Tamil Nadu.
Bypoll Duca with Dead Aiadmk Rajya Sabha Mohammedjan Member in March this year.
A former Wing Youth DMK official, Abdullah is the young and upcoming DMK leader from Tirumayam in the Pudu District district.
He was used as a Joint Secretary of the Nri Wing Party in January this year.
By nominating Abdullah to fill the vacancies made by Mohammedjan’s death, the powerful DMK has chosen to nominate a Muslim candidate to maintain minority support.
With DMK it has its own majority, Abdullah is likely to be selected without repositioning to the top home.
“Abdullah is a very active member on social media and is very close to members of our party’s young family (M K Stalin).
He is the choice of Udhayanidhi,” said a source on DMK.
Udhayanidhi Stalin is the leader of the youth of the party and MLA from Chennai Chelauk-Triplicane constituency.
