DMRC Builds Underground Parking Facilities

Delhi: Metro Delhi is building the first integrated integrated parking facility at the Metro station that will come in the gray line, which will allow passengers to park their vehicles and move to the Concourse area directly, officials said on Thursday.
The Dhansa Bus Stand Metro Station, was built on an extension of the gray line, is expected to be opened in July, they said.
Working on the 1.8 km Najafgarh-Dhansa bus holder is now almost complete, and with the completion of this section, this corridor will be 6.1 km-length with four stations, said Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).
“Dhansa Bus Stand Metro Station in the Dwarka-Najafgarh-Dhansa Bus Station corridor will be the first underground metro station on the Delhi Metro network to have a whole underground floor dedicated to vehicle parking,” said Metro Delhi in a statement.
Parking facilities will be integrated with the main station area, and vehicle users will be able to park their two-wheeled cars there and then proceed to the Concourse station directly using the elevator and escalator, officials said.
This station has been designed as a four-level underground structure where the platform will be below (at an estimated depth of 18 m), followed by Concourse and then the entire floor for parking on it with the roof surface on it (or ground level), DMRC said.
Parking space is equipped with facilities, such as incoming and outlets, lifts, stairs and escalators.
This facility will have a parking space for around 110 cars and 185 two-wheeled.
There will be provisions for property development activities at the surface of the land in the future, the statement said.
There will be one elevator in the parking lot for passengers.
In addition, there will be two stairs and two escalators each, which will connect direct facilities with the concourse area below, he said.
Second office clock, when passengers are in a hurry to take the train and as early as possible, the location of the surrounding parking lot with concourse will be the main benefit, officials said.
Parking facilities can be considered as a major design-based increase because there are no other underground metro stations on the Delhi Metro network which has these facilities, DMRC said.
At present, the Hindon River Metro Station in the Dilshad Garden-Shaheed Stal (New Bus ADDA) corridor has a basement parking facilities even though it is an elevated station.
The New Delhi station from the airport lane has a multilevel parking lot above the station, he said.
Parking facilities will be useful for locals because areas side by side are very crowded with very limited space for vehicle parking.
The parking space will have slopings on two sides to enter and exit the vehicle.
There will be two facilities in and out which will connect the parking lot both with the above surface, and the platform below, officials said.
Metro Delhi currently operates parking around 100 metro stations throughout the network.
The extension of this gray line will be very useful for the occupants of the interior area around Najafgarh.
All efforts are being carried out to open the Section of the Najafgarh-Dhansa Bus Stand at the end of this month after complying with all legal requirements, the officials said.
DMRC has 10 lines covering 242 stations, and 264 stations including metro quickly in Gurgaon.
