Ahmedabad: Gujarat Pollution Control Agency (GPCB) on Friday was handed over to the Gujarat High Court that the decision to express coal as a fuel agreed to curb the level of air pollution “may not be shocked by justice”.
In response to pills submitted by advocate Amit Panchus demanding that all coal-based industries must shift to natural gas to improve the quality of the air around in Gujarat, the High Court asked the state government: “Why notification of Gazettes dated 26.10.2017 or similar notifications / sequences By declaring coal as the fuel approved under Section 2 (d) of air pollution actions are not hit? “GPCB has answered that the notification was issued after consultation with the state government by using the power available under the Law (Prevention and Control of Pollution), 1981, and therefore the court may not consider removing coal from the list of agreed fuel in Gujarat.

The High Court also looks for details from the government about how many industrial functions on coal and what coal consumption in Gujarat.
GPCB has told a total court of 4,308 industrial units in all functions using coal as fuel.
All industries that use steam for their production use coal.
The main industry carried out on coal is a power plant, pharmaceutical, steel, chemical industry, textile etc.
In coal consumption, GPCB states that the average use of coal in Gujarat every day is 4.58,435.12 metric.
Kutch Regency is in coal consumption with 1,70,232 MT.
The industrial unit in the Ahmedabad district consumes 57,379 MT coal with a city unit using 5,761 MT every day.
Gandhinagar consumes 12,453 MT, a letter using 35,052 mt coal.
The GPCB was subsequently conveyed that Gujarat had installed the capacity to produce 26,428 MW per hour due to the total capacity of 3.82 lakh generations in India.
Against 53% of the use of coal in power plants in India, the use of Gujarat coal is 51.9%.
The court was also told that 70% plus energy filled with Gujarat came from coal-based units and only 9% of gas-based power stations.
The court has posted hearing this problem on January 21.
