Gurgaon: A man was arrested for allegedly hiring his flat in sector 46 to foreigners without sending form-C to the police.
According to the police, the owner, identified as Antil Yadav, has rented a flat to someone from Iraq.
FORM-C filing is mandatory for anyone who rent space to foriger, even if it’s only for a few hours.
The form helps the authorities track and find foreigners who live in India for security and security reasons.
During the interrogation, Yadav had provided a satisfying answer why he did not send a form, followed being captured under 5 and 14 of the foreign Law, 1946.
Meanwhile, the Yadav family had filed a guarantee and he was released Monday.
Additional Toi Toi Ti Virender, “We received information that this man hired his flat to foreigners from Iraq.
We grew suspicious because we did not have such detail with us, therefore, he was arrested.” When foreigners were interrogated, it was found that he was not too Beyond and still have a visa time until the end of 2021.
“There are no errors of foreign nationals here.
This is the responsibility of the owner to submit the necessary form,” Virender added.
This is not the first incident, as in the police, almost 10 foreigners have been arrested in the last 20 days for overstaying.
Towards independence day, Gurgaon police have increased their supervision and are conducting checks on hotels, guest houses, and other locations to see if there are foreigners who surpass in India.
Recently, four foreigners, including a woman, were arrested for too high after their visas and passports had expired.
“In the background of independence day, we conducted a random inspection, especially in hotels, guest houses, so no one lived illegally here,” said a police officer.
