Noida: Doctors based in Noida in the early fifties have alleged that they are drawing and robbed more than Rs 5 lakh by a woman and “a policeman” on the threat that they will make photos of public compromise.
The police have arrested the man, identified as Mohsin Khan, and recovered Rs 4.93 lakh from Rs 5.18 lakh which was squeezed from his ownership.
Fake ID cards from the police, two ATM cards, one credit card and two cellphones have also been confiscated.
In his complaint, the doctor had claimed that he met the woman, who was involved in the sex trade, at Hotel Noida a few months ago.
However, one week back, the doctor began receiving a call from Mohsin, who identified himself as police personnel and extorted it.
Fear of infamy, the doctor allegedly paid Mohsin Rs 5.18 Lakh in at least four installments.
“The money was paid in the Ganges and Atta Chowk shopping complex,” said the senior police officer to the Toi.
According to the police, the doctor approached the police when it became difficult for him to give Mohsin more money.
A pine was then submitted against the defendant under the IPC 386 section (extortion), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 170 (anyone who pretended to hold a certain office as a civil servant).
Additional DCP (Noida) Ranvijay Singh said the defendant would claim to be the top police and use other photos from others as a picture of the WhatsApp display to deceive the doctor and threaten to leak the items they have on social media.
“The accusation has a police uniform and will call a doctor in an unknown location to give money.
Suddenly, the defendant will claim that he will send someone to raise money from a doctor but every time he appears himself,” he said.
Sector 20 Police arrested Mohsin from near the multi-level parking lot in sector 18 where he allegedly called the doctor “for the last time to give more money”.
