Panaji: Of almost 2,200 applicants, only 230, including doctors, dentists and engineers, have cleaned pre-screening for Junior Scale (JSO) officers conducted by the Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC).
GPSC Chairman Manual Jose Noronha said the successful candidate must answer the main computer-based recruitment test (CBRT) followed by a written exam and interview.
About 3,000 applications are accepted for 15 advertised positions.
As in the last pre-screening exam, this time, 60% of the successful candidates are the other 40% engineers belonging to the Faculty of Humanities, Trade, Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy.
Noronha said that on the previous JSO pre-filtering test, a similar number of candidates had tried a successful 101 examination.
The current image shows a real increase in the performance of candidates.
The syllabus for the main CBRT consists of Indian history, environment and ecology, governance, innovation, geography, logical reasoning and analytical and English abilities.
The 75-mark check consists of several types of choices that must be completed within 75 minutes.
“There is no negative marking on this test and every correct answer is assigned one sign and wrong answer.
The result is stated when the examination ends and each candidate can see the score on the computer screen,” Noronha said this was the fifth effort to choose the candidate for positions JSO.
In previous efforts, the Commission could choose one, two, six, and seven candidates in the first, second and fourth attempt.
