Doctor Report 400 Kasing Mis-C in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: There are more than 400 cases of multi-system inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C), post-covid complications, in the city for the past month, according to the Bengaluru unit from the Indian Academy of Paediatrics (IAP).
The doctor has expressed concern over the numbers in front of the third wave that is possible and urges parents to get children tested for Covid-19 without delay.
However, the health welfare department and the family family have not captured the exact data from MIS-C.
“According to the data collected and put together by IAP Bengaluru, Karnataka has seen 800 cases of Mis-C and City approaching 450 for the past month.
There may be other cases that have not yet arrived at our knowledge,” Professor Malikarjun HB, Bengaluru President of Iap, told Stoi.
IAP has 1,500 registered members in all states.
MIS-C requires hospitalization and cannot be treated at home.
“Symptoms of MIS-C show two to four weeks after Covid-19 infection.
In some cases, the symptoms can occur after six weeks.

“We have cared for 110 children with Mis-C for the past month,” added Dr.
Sanjay.
According to experts, MIS-C usually affects those aged between 5 and 18.
IVIG (intravenous immunoglobulin) is very important in care.
